Man Gets Stuck In Toilet During Attempt To Rescue Dropped Phone

Norwegian firefighters had to rescue a man who climbed into a toilet to retrieve a cell phone after he got stuck in the tank.

Cato Berntsen Larsen, 20, learned the hard way that sometimes you just have to let things go when he climbed into an outhouse and couldn't get out.

"First we tried to get the phone with a stick but that didn't work. So I jumped in," he told daily VG.

It looks like he was too pooped to get back out.

In all seriousness, he was miserable. According to VG, he was overcome by nausea and vomiting, and he couldn't pull himself out of the tank that is only cleaned once per year.

When firefighters arrived, they didn't have a hard time getting him out according to AFP.

"We sent a four-man crew with a chainsaw and they cut open the front of the (plastic) toilet," fire brigade spokeswoman Tina Brock.

She acknowledged that this was definitely the first rescue of its kind.

"It was pretty full down there," Brock said.

The phone, sadly, was never recovered from the toilet.
