Video surfaces of woman chasing cat on busy highway

The Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) recently released video which shows a woman trying to rescue a cat that had been spotted on a busy highway in the Houston area, reports KTRK.

In the footage, the woman can be seen chasing the feline with a towel but the animal keeps running waywardly in between the vehicles.

According to the Houston Chronicle, "other drivers in the video do not appear to be too happy with the woman, but judging from her reaction, she doesn't seem to care."

The ordeal continued for a few minutes and the HCTRA's Incident Management Division team along with a police officer arrived on the scene.

Eventually, the woman grabbed the cat and was able to get back to her car while the officer blocked the traffic with his car.

Even though the feline was rescued in this case, authorities do point out it's extremely dangerous for drivers to engage in such activity and they should let trained personnel handle these situations.
