Prince George makes "so much mess" when cooking

5 Things You Need To Know About Prince George

Kate Middleton—as we discussed yesterday—is making her return to the scene, after a few weeks of summer break. And, on Wednesday, she truly delivered, appearing in an Instagram Story for the first time; repeating a very popular, memorable dress; and, it turns out, sharing some top-notch Prince George details.

Per a People report, Kate—who spent the visit, in Luton, touring the facility for national youth charity Youthscape—reportedly chanced upon a group of teens cooking some "chocolate crispy cakes." (Can you imagine the sort of pressure one would feel trying to bake something, or completing any basic task, in the presence of the Duchess? If we were trying to bake something in front of Kate, we would probably set off like three fire alarms before even turning on the oven.)

Anyway, Kate saw these young people baking and, according to People, asked them, "So, what are you making? This smells seriously good," inquiring further, "What are you putting in? Is this just chocolate? Golden syrup? Good, good." She then volunteered, "When I try to do this with George at home, chocolate and the golden syrup goes everywhere. He makes so much mess. It's chaos."

And then later, she apparently spoke to a local mother, Suzanne Dow, about George's pasta affection. Dow told reporters afterwards, "[Kate] said, 'George likes his spaghetti as well, he'd love to get messy.'"

This, we must say, slightly alters our understanding of George, the sophisticate, unless he is making the mess in the kitchen as some sort of diversion tactic. While Kate's busy dealing with the mess, he's off writing poems with a quill in the study, where she won't be able to find him and tell him to "go do normal kid things."

Kate made her second public appearance in two days, on Thursday, as she visited a charity that helps support children's mental health. She opted for an LK Bennett red dress. We shall have to wait and see if today delivers unto us yet some more Prince George anecdotes.
