You can probably tell that Facebook generates ads based on the pages you like.

But the social media site may know even more about you than you think, particularly about your political views.

Whether you agree with it or not, Facebook has already put you in a political box and categorized you as liberal, moderate or conservative.

Luckily, there's an unobvious but easy way to check which label you fall under.

Simply head over to: www.facebook.co/ads/preferences

There, you'll see a list of categories and topics that Facebook's new algorithm has decided you care about.

You can also edit these interests that Facebook uses to generate ads relevant to you.

Find and click on the "Lifestyle and culture" tab.

From the dropdown list, find the section that says "US politics".

And voila! In parenthesis, you'll see either Liberal, Conservative or Moderate.

Even if you haven't liked Trump or Clinton's Facebook pages, the site will determine your political standing based on the brands, celebs, TV shows, and pretty much anything and everything you like.

Facebook may not be able to tell you who to vote for, but it probably already know who it will be.
