Hit singer Cam revealed the juicy details of her cringeworthy encounter with the pop singer at the 2015 CMA Awards.

"During rehearsals people were telling me how much they loved my music. So leading up to our encounter I was like, 'Oh, I'm kind of a cool person," the 31-year-old crooner admitted in an exclusive interview with AOL.

Then the story takes an embarrassing, yet funny, turn ...

"I see Justin Timberlake smile and wave at me and I think, 'No way, he knows who I am!' I smile and wave back and he looks confused. And then I realize behind me was Chris Stapleton," she confessed.

When Cam isn't involved in awkward encounters with mega pop stars, the San Francisco-native is making new music.

The Grammy nominee rose to fame when her hit single "Burning House," a song she revealed came from a dream, burned up the music charts.

But the songwriter reveals her art is not all that it's cracked up to be.

"Writing is super tiring and if I can't get it the way I want to it seems like I'll whittle away for years," she said.

But it looks like it's paying off, Cam dished that she recently performed a duet with one of her idols, Eric Church -- and it may have been one of the coolest things she has done yet!

"It was an out of body experience. It was just him and me in the spotlight. He usually wears a black leather jacket and aviators so I wore a yellow leather jacket and aviators," she gushed.

The singer is also keeping plenty busy with the Bud Light Party Convention. She traveled to Atlanta earlier this August with country greats Randy Houser and Chase Bryant to perform in front a sold-out crowd.

And while the blonde beauty admitted you will some unexpected changes in her music, there's one thing she won't change: her voluminous, curly hair.

"The more fro-like it gets, the more powerful I feel," she gushed.

In 1972, Loretta Lynn was the first female to win Entertainer of the Year at the CMA Awards.  "I'd like to say that I've won a lot of awards," she began, "and this is one that I have been nominated for, but I never did get. This, I think, is the only one that I haven't gotten. I'm real happy, but the only thing I'm kind of sad about is my husband is going hunting. He couldn't make it back in to share my happiness with me. Thank you," she famously said during her speech.  Photo by Gary Settle/New York Times Co./Getty Images)

In 1975, before defending Entertainer of the Year Charlie Rich read the winner for that year's Entertainer of the Year, he set fire to the ballot. The winner, John Denver, still got his award but Rich was banned from future award shows.

Willie Nelson and more big names hit the stage to honor country legend Johnny Cash in 2003. What was more interesting though was Johnny's big sweep of awards including Album of the Year and Single and Music Video of the Year for "Hurt." (Photo by Scott Gries/Getty Images)

Well it wasn't exactly historic, but it was memorable! in 2010 Gwyneth Paltrow overcame a set of nerves and performed music from her movie "Country Strong" at the CMA Awards. The performance was widely accepted as being better than expected.
