Third time was a charm when it came to planning Ciara and Russell Wilson's lavish wedding ceremony, says celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss.

"I did the whole thing — three times," Weiss, who planned the Wilson's July nuptials, told The Knot. "They were first getting married in North Carolina, but they called it off due to the transgender bathroom laws." (Billboard reached out to a rep for Ciara for comment.)

Weiss said the couple then set their sights on Paris, yet another failed destination, though, as Couture Fashion Week was taking place at the same time. Finally, the two agreed on Peckforton Castle in London, about an hour out of Liverpool. Ciara's bridal party included La La Anthony, Kelly Rowland and Serena Williams (who couldn't attend due to Wimbledon). The stress of planning and coordinating aside, Weiss said her favorite part of the wedding was the ceremony, "because they were so happy... They really are a very cool couple."

The soon-to-be Wilsons are only the latest addition to a growing list of big events that have been moved from North Carolina due to the controversial laws. The National Basketball Association pulled February's scheduled All-Star Game from Charlotte, relocating the festivities to New Orleans. Additionally, Bruce Springsteen, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, and more have all skipped tour stops in the state.

And while Beyoncé performed as planned, she did speak out against the law, posting a statement to her site that read, "As the Formation World Tour makes it stop in the Tar Heel State in the midst of such a controversial time, we think it is important for us to bring attention to those who are committed to being good and carrying on the message of equality in this core of controversy."
