5 crazy moments from past Olympic closing ceremonies

Simone Biles' 'Brazilian Boyfriend' Sends Zac Efron a Message: 'I Saw Her First'

The 2016 Rio Olympics is finally coming to a close.

After 16 wonderful days of success, scandal and #winning, it's time to hand out the games' last medals and say "tchau" to Brazil in the Olympics Closing Ceremony on Sunday night.

Before Rio passes the torch off to Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics, let's take a look back at some of the most memorable moments of Olympics Closing Ceremonies past.

5. Vancouver 2010 -- Canada Shuts It Down

The closing ceremony of the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver had a whole lot of Canadian star power: Actors like William Shatner and Michael J. Fox delivered comedic monologues, while musical acts like Nickleback and Avril Lavigne performed. But it was Michael Bublé who really got the crowd roaring. He paid tribute to his Canadian roots by taking to the stage dressed as a Mountie to sing "The Maple Leaf Forever," before having his costume ripped off by a couple of scantily-clad performers.

4. Turin 2006 -- Streaker & Speaker

A young Polish woman ran through Turin's closing ceremony with an Italian flag bearing the handwritten inscription "Mi Consenta" and drawings on her naked body. She was stopped by officials before making much of a scene, but the same cannot be said for a Spanish man who interrupted Valentino Castellani's final speech. The guy was apparently just very passionate about the Olympics, yelling, "Passion lives in Torino" -- the city's Olympic slogan -- before being wrestled away from the mic by security.

3. Sochi 2014 -- Polar Bear Tears

Sochi's three slightly adorable (but also kind of creepy) mascots, the Polar Bear, the Hare and the Leopard, returned for 2014's Closing Ceremony, once again striking fear in the hearts of children everywhere. The super-sized Polar Bear was the lucky one chosen to extinguish Sochi's flame, putting out the torch's fire with the biggest sigh Olympic Park has ever seen. No such feat could be accomplished without shedding a tear -- one single, strange tear.

2. Los Angeles 1984 -- UFOs

The 1984 Olympic Ceremony was out of this world. Instead of introducing sports fans to the next host of the Olympics, Los Angeles decided to introduce the world to another, well, world as a 7'8" man in an alien costume descended upon L.A. in a UFO to salute humanity's efforts. Yup.

1. London 2012 -- Getting Spicy

Our lives have never been as spiced up as they were when the Spice Girls reunited at London's Closing Ceremony. We were following so closely along to a medley of their greatest hits, we almost missed out on Posh Spice's amazing ability to look totally and completely unimpressed. We missed you on stage, Victoria Beckham!

While we wait to see what crazy shenanigans Rio will pull in their closing ceremony, take a look back at one of the most buzzed about moments from these Summer Olympics' Opening Ceremony in the video below.
