Conor Dwyer had a seriously great Olympics in Rio, but news of the drama surrounding Ryan Lochte's alleged mugging at gunpoint has been the main focus of news around most USA swimmers.

"We had a little bit of a hiccup last night with Ryan [Lochte]," Dwyer told AOL in an exclusive interview at Holland's Heineken House on Sunday. "I was with him earlier that night, I wasn't with him when it went down, but I'm sure the story will come out."

Despite the scary incident, Dwyer says that the Rio Olympics have been great and he's been really enjoying the country's hospitality.

"The people have been amazing and they put on an amazing Games. The village was great. Everything has been good, except for the hiccup."

The 27-year-old swimmer scooped up his first individual medal, a bronze, in the Men's 200M Freestyle and also took home gold in the Men's 4x200M Freestyle relay. Lochte, Michael Phelps and Francis Haas were his teammates in the relay.

"It's been a goal of mine since 2012, getting fifth and then first in the relay. I've always wanted to help out the team and get an individual medal," Dwyer said of his bronze medal win. "To get one here was something special and to have my family and friends here cheering me on, it was something I'll never forget."

And what did he and his teammates chow down on after scoring gold -- none other than McDonald's (which has an outpost in the Olympic Village."

"The first thing we did was go to McDonald's. We ordered a Big Mac, fries, 20 nuggets, we ate a good amount of mackers. Now that we're done, we're just hitting the town and just enjoying it," Dwyer said.

Team USA was dominant in both men's and women's swimming events at the 2016 Rio Games and Dwyer says that now that they're done, they just want to relax and have some fun.

"It's been incredible. Team USA was on fire the whole meet, so we threw down and had one of the best meets of all time and now we are just enjoying Rio."
