A wildlife rescue in England recently took in a bat, and before you grimace in fear of the animal most associated with Halloween and spookiness, you have to take a look at it.

The little guy is the size of a paper clip!

Who knew bats could even exist at that small of a size? It's certainly adorable.

The tiny bat was found in a really unfortunate way. He was completely alone with no mom or family to be found. He was also malnourished and covered in both mites and cobwebs.

He was brought to Folly Wildlife Rescue in England, and luckily things started to turn around.

While the goal in a situation like this would usually be to reunited the bats, an employee told The Dodo this particular case would be a lost cause. It was evident he was separated from the rest of the family for a while.

After a few weeks, and some serious tender loving care, the bat started to get stronger. The employees at the rescue knew things were truly looking up once he started eating solid foods.

Yes, this bat's solid food may have been a big fat worm, but hey – to each their own.

Over time, he bonded with other bats in the rescue, and can now even fly with the best of them.

When the rescue deems these bats to be ready, this little guy and some of his new friends will be sent back out to the wild.

They really do grow up so fast!
