French officials are investigating recent threats made against satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo.

Less than two years after the paper was the site of a terrorist attack that killed 12, "written death threats" have reportedly been made against the paper online.

More than a dozen posts on Charlie Hebdo's Facebook page were flagged in July and August, after the newspaper ran a satirical cartoon making fun of Muslims at the beach.

The investigation follows other threats made against the paper back in June.

Al-Qaeda claimed responsibility for the first attack, but investigators haven't released any findings linking the terrorist group to the recent threats.
