Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump delivered remarks Wednesday to the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon.

The event began around 3:10 p.m., and was organized by delegates Terry Kilgore and Todd Pillion, reports WJHL.

This is the first appearance for Trump since Tuesday's speech made headlines. The billionaire businessman seemingly suggested during a rally at UNC Wilmington that gun owners should shoot Hillary Clinton over the Supreme Court.

The comment has generated backlash, including the New York Daily News calling for him to drop out of the election.
