Coca-Cola pulls plug on 'sexist' ad campaign after brutal backlash

Coca-Cola Pulls the Plug on Sprite Campaign After Backlash

IRELAND (CDAF) --The same people who tell you to "Obey Your Thirst" might not be obeying the rules of respect . Check out sprite's latest ads.

A few billboards and web promos in Ireland featuring phrases like, "She's seen more ceilings than Michelangelo," "You're not popular, you're easy," and "A 2 at 10 is a 10 at 2."

This is all supposed to be apart of Sprite's #BrutallyRefreshing campaign. But, it seems like they only got the brutal part right. Once social media got a taste of these new ads, the backlash poured in with people calling it "sexist" and "degrading".

According to CNN, Sprite's parent company Coca-Cola ended up pulling the campaign and sent out an apology.

Aye Yo, Sprite?! We'd rather you stick to the music lyrics and not the rude pick-up-lines.
