A remake of the 1988 comedy "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" is in the works at MGM, in the development phase, TheWrap has learned. Rebel Wilson, of the "Pitch Perfect" series, is attached to star.

The updated version of the story revolves around two female con artists — one of whom is very high society (like the Michael Caine character in the original), and the other is more earthy (following in the footsteps of the Steve Martin character).

The 1988 movie, about two scam artist targeting a wealthy heiress, was actually a remake of the 1964 film "Bedtime Story," starring Marlon Brando and David Niven.

The new version will have the film's two women crooks attempting to rob an unsuspecting young tech executive out of his fortune.

This is not the only remake in which Wilson is attached to star as she has a remake of the 1980 Goldie Hawn comedy "Private Benjamin" in the works.

Roger Birnbaum, of Pin High Productions, and Wilson are producing.
