The International Olympic Committee has agreed to add 5 new sports to the Olympic Games.

The new events are skateboarding, karate, surfing, sports climbing, as well as the return of baseball and softball.

Events like skating and climbing were added to bring the Games to young people and reflect the growing trend of urbanized sports.

The International Olympic Committee said, "We want to take sport to the youth."

They added, "With the many options that young people have, we cannot expect any more that they will come automatically to us. We have to go to them."

Olympians will compete in these sports for the first time at the 2020 Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
