In what can only be described as a win for public intoxication, a McDonald's in the U.K. is seeing what happens if it opens up the drive-through to random pedestrians who decide late at night that they need a burger and perhaps 12 orders of large fries, or whatever the case may be. This "walk-through" window appears to be a first for the chain, which actually details in its online FAQs why stores don't serve walk-up customers. However, on the weekends, this particular outlet in Llandudno, a city in Wales, now specifically dedicates one drive-through lane to foot traffic between the hours of 2.30 a.m. and 4 a.m. as a way of inviting particular clientele to "come and enjoy a meal at the restaurant after their nightout."

According to The Sun, the test started last Saturday and achieved "instant popularity," already leading management to declare that it should stick around as a permanentlate-night feature. Now they just need to figure out where they're going to install the parking-lotbathrooms.
