Mary J. Blige's 12-year marriage to husband and manager Martin "Kendu" Isaacs is coming to an end. According to TMZ, the R&B singer cited irreconcilable differences in court documents for the breakup. She also allegedly is asking the judge to block Isaacs from receiving spousal support.

In 2014, Blige opened up about her marriage in an interview with U.K.'s The Telegraph. "It definitely feels like an achievement. I never thought I'd last this long in a marriage," she said at the time. "He always has my back – he's going to fight to the death for Mary J Blige. The downside is that there's no separation – it's on all the time. When you don't feel like answering to your manager, he's still your husband."

She also told Billboard of Isaacs that year, "I had something to look at that was new -- a person who was happy, a person who appreciated life. A person who had family who loved him and taught him how to be what he was. I was able to look at that and try to be that. That's when my life began to go up."

Blige met Isaacs in 2000 while he was producing a song for Queen Latifah that featured the singer. She wed Isaacs in 2003 and had no children. Kendu has three children -- Briana, 18, Jordan, 16, and Nas, 15 -- from a previous relationship.

A rep for Blige did not immediately respond to Billboard's request for comment.
