Bill Cosby drops lawsuit against accuser Andrea Constand
Bill Cosby has cleared at least one legal matter off of his plate.
The scandal-plagued comedian has voluntarily dismissed his lawsuit against his accuser, Andrea Constand, accoring to court papers obtained by TheWrap.
The suit was dismissed without prejudice, meaning Cosby can take the matter up again at a later point if he wishes.
Cosby sued Constand — a former Temple University employee who accused the comedian of drugging and sexually assaulting her at his Pennsylvania home — in February.
The comedian claimed that Constant violated a confidentiality settlement stemming from a settlement of Constand's lawsuit against Cosby, reached a decade ago. Among other things, Cosby's suit claimed that Constand had violated the agreement with a pair of tweets published in 2014, as well as a 2015 interview with the Toronto Sun.
American Media, the parent company of the National Enquirer, was also a defendant in the suit, as were Constand's mother Gianna Constand and Andrea Constand's attorney Dolores Troiani.
Cosby currently faces a criminal case stemming from Constand's accusations.
In recent months, Cosby has been accused of rape or sexual assault by dozens of women, with a common theme being that he allegedly drugged them beforehand.

Cosby's has denied such accusations in the past, and in some cases filed suit against his accusers.
