Oprah And Ava DuVernay Team Up For 'A Wrinkle In Time'

Oprah Winfrey is reuniting with director Ava DuVernay for her next project A Wrinkle in Time.

Winfrey is in final negotiations to play Mrs. Which in Disney's adaptation of the 1963 children's book classic by Madelein L'Engle. Frozen writer and co-director Jennifer Lee wrote the adaptation.

The Newbery Medal-winning book centers on a young girl whose scientist father disappears. Three peculiar beings help her, her brother and her friend to seek out her missing father. Mrs. Which is one of the supernatural beings who helps the children make their way through the universe.

Winfrey appeared in DuVernay's Martin Luther King Jr. film Selma and served as a producer, helping to get the film made. Their collaboration continued with DuVernay's upcoming drama series Queen Sugar, which will premiere on the OWN network on Sept. 6. Winfrey is repped by WME.
