Uzo Aduba defends 'Strong' Taylor Swift, says pal will get over Kimye rift
The squad is standing behind Taylor Swift! On Wednesday, Orange Is the New Black actress Uzo Aduba spoke with Vanity Fair about her pal's recent feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Kardashian posted clips from a phone call between West and Swift to her Snapchat that seemingly contradict Swift's previous claims that she had never approved his song "Famous."
When asked if Swift will be able to get over this latest battle with the famous couple, Aduba replied, "She will. She's a beautiful person and strong."
The Netflix star recently spent the Fourth of July with Swift and her squad at the singer's Rhode Island mansion. The former Broadway actress also joined Tay on stage during her 1989 World Tour to sing a duet to the song "White Horse."
Aduba is just one of the many celebrity Swift supporters to speak out since the videos were released. After the "Blank Space" singer called the clips "character assassination" and insisted she never heard the full song or approved the lyric "that b**ch," her pals quickly came to her aid.
Selena Gomez weighed in on the feud, tweeting, "There are more important things to talk about. Why can't people use their voice for something that f**king matters?" And both Martha Hunt and Ruby Rose tweeted anti-bullying messages without directly referencing the beef. Swift's childhood pal Abigail Anderson and "Bad Blood" music video director, Joseph Kahn, both lashed out on social media, attacking West and the Kardashians.
