Boaters in Maryland were out for a ride when they came across a young raccoon struggling to swim. In a heartwarming moment all caught on video, they documented the actions that likely saved the poor animal's life.

The video shows the little guy barely keeping his head up as he slowly paddled the water, looking incredibly tired. The people behind the camera can be heard discussing whether it's a baby raccoon since it was so small.

With some quick thinking, the sailors threw a lifejacket into the water tied to a rope. The exhausted swimmer climbed on, and they towed him back to shore.

The cute little creature seems so relaxed and relieved to finally stop swimming. Cue your 'awwww' moment of the day.
