Selena Gomez skips Taylor Swift's Fourth of July party, throws her own

It looks like there might be a new tradition for Selena Gomez!

Taylor Swift's longtime bestie, Selena, skipped out on Tay's annual Fourth of July bash at her massive Rhode Island abode in favor of throwing a party at her own home in Los Angeles.

Selena posted a video on Instagram recapping the party action -- and it looks like she was having a blast hosting her own patriotic bash. The 23-year-old songbird held the party in between shows for her Revival World tour. Her last show was on July 2 in Denver and she's headed to Phoenix on July 5, making it much easier for her to have a party on the west coast than attend a bash on the east coast.

Selena captioned her Instagram video, where she's seen greeting guests and then plunging into the pool,"Hostess vibes. Happy 4th everyone!"

Later Selena posted several snapchats of herself shooting off fireworks and playing with sparklers. She can be heard singing Katy Perry's "Firework" in the background.

Meanwhile off in Rhode Island, Swift was hosting big-name stars like Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, Uzo Aduba, Ruby Rose and more. Also on tap at Swifty's bash was her new boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston.
