Boy trampled to death by cow after animal becomes 'spooked'
A family in Georgetown, Massachusetts is mourning the loss of an 8-year-old boy who was trampled to death while tending to cows with his father, reports WCVB.
Early Saturday afternoon, the two were exercising the animals kept on their property when one of the cows became "spooked," notes the Boston Herald.
Emergency workers were called to the scene at approximately 12:45 p.m.
According to CBS News, the child, George Carter, was rushed to Anna Jacques Hospital but did not survive.
Authorities are still investigating the case, but at this point, it is not believed that foul play was involved.
The Carter family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the funeral expenses.
