Hardworking Teen's Landscaping Business Goes Viral

CLEVELAND-- Fourteen-year-old Daron Taylor of Cleveland is not your typical teenager.

"When I used to live on Superior Avenue, I used to see other people cutting grass. It inspired me to cut grass. So, I went ahead and my daddy bought me a lawn mover and I started cutting grass," Daron said.

But Daron decided to take it a step further by building a bike trailer so he could get to yards farther away.

"I just cut a couple pieces of wood and mounted it to my bike, all by myself," he said.

"I was driving when I saw Daron and the trailer. I thought it was unique," said Deon Johnson, of Cleveland.

Johnson uploaded a video of Daron on social media. Within days, it had almost 18 million views.

"He reminded me of myself when I was a kid, doing what you had to do, cutting grass, washing cars," Johnson said.

Needless to say, his parents are proud.

"This was something he created on his own. All he asked for was equipment and we supplied it," said Cheryl Dukes, mother.

"It's summer time, and they'd rather cut grass and work than go play and have fun swimming," said Kenneth Dukes, father.

Daron doesn't work alone. He gets help from his 12-year-old brother.

"It's fun because I get to spend time with him some more," said TiShawn Holmes.

Daron's parents said they have filed the paper to make D's Lawn Care an LLC.

They also set up a GoFundMe page to help with his business expenses.
