By: Donna Freydkin
Dear readers, yours truly burns the second she's out in the sun. And yet, wearing SPF is a daily struggle. Some of the creams feel goopy. Others feel like you're wearing a sweater on your face, and not in a good way. Yet others leave a major residue and don't seem to be that powerful. Yes, the skincare struggle is real (watch our interview with eternally youthful goddess Christie Brinkley above).
So we compiled a few of our favorite SPF hero products that work wonders.
Equitance sunscreen broad spectrum spf 36: This face cream goes on smoother than water, and having tested it ourselves, we can attest that it works, even on the fairest skin tones.
Kiehl's Since 1851 Super Fluid UV Defense SPF 50+: The go-to summer sun standby. You'll never go wrong with this skin-protectant staple.
Clarins Sunscreen Care Oil Spray SPF 30 for Skin & Hair: Smells great. And highly effective.
RéVive® Intensité' Crème Lustre SPF 30: There's a reason makeup artists love this luxe brand. It feels like velvet on your skin. And yes, it truly does the job.
La Prairie Skin Caviar Concealer + Foundation Sunscreen SPF 15: Wearing makeup when it's scorching out can be a drag. So try this ultra-light, yet super-efficacious face perfector.
Chantecaille Lip Screen SPF 15: One common mistake most of us is mistake forgetting the pucker. So keep those lips hydrated, and shielded, with this Chantecaille goodie.
Vita Liberata Self Tan Dry Oil SPF 50 is the best of both worlds: Gives you the gleam of a (fake) tan while giving your skin ample protection from the rays.
Drunk Elephant Umbra™ Sheer Physical Defense SPF 30: Holy crap, this stuff is amazing. Not only does it prevent skin damage, but it smells killer without leaving any white residue or greasiness.

Perricone MD Photo Plasma: This moisturizer is oil-free and and feels as close to bare skin as you can get. Plus, it's got broad spectrum protection.
Sun Bum SPF 30 face stick: Perfect for those on the go. And by on the go, we mean kids, most of whom are averse to sunscreen application at the best of times. And by kids, we mean a certain 5-year-old who actually enjoys have this on his face.
Elizabeth Arden PREVAGE City Smart SPF 50: The ideal product for those on the go. Throw it in your bag and apply as needed.
