Sinead O'Connor is denying reports that she recently threatened to commit suicide in Chicago, Illinois.
The 49-year-old singer took to Facebook on Friday to set the record straight, calling the reports "bulls**t."
"Oh and by the way it's bulls**t I jumped off a bridge, some stupid b**ch up at Swords Garda station decided she'd like to throw a bit of false and malicious gossip about is all," a post on O'Connor's official Facebook page reads, as part of a rant about politics. "AM FAR TOO F***ING HAPPY FOR THAT!!"
Chicago police issued a radio message telling officials to look out for O'Connor after she allegedly threatened to commit suicide on Thursday, according to DNA Info. The message was relayed after Irish police in Dublin reportedly called to say that the singer said she was "on a bridge in Chicago and I'm going to jump."
ET has reached out to Chicago police.
This isn't the first time the "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer has been reportedly placed on suicide watch. Last November, she posted a lengthy Facebook message claiming she overdosed. She was later located and found "safe."
"There is only so much any woman can be expected to bear," she wrote at the time. " ... The last two nights finished me off. I have taken an overdose. There is no other way to get respect. I am not at home, I'm at a hotel, somewhere in Ireland, under another name."
Last month, she was reported missing after she went on an early morning bike ride in Wilmette, Illinois. The incident came after she posted several cryptic Facebook messages in regard to the custody of one of her sons, Shane.
"Baby, I've been trying to get you out of care but Tusla [the Child and Family Agency] are being monsters. I have to back off because they are hurting me so badly. I get unwell again if I go near them," O'Connor wrote. "The best thing I can do is advise you to get a solicitor of your own -- which you are now entitled to because you are 12 -- and bring a case of your own against Tusla."
O'Connor was quickly found by police. "Sinead is alive and safe and no longer classified as a missing person," law enforcement in Wilmette told ET at the time.
