Police at the scene tell PIX11 a group of teenagers were playing basketball when someone noticed that an expensive bag was missing.

After no one confessed to taking the bag, the bag's owner left the park and returned with a group of friends.

One of the friends, who police say had a gun, allegedly opened fire in the playground.

Police say five victims, ranging from ages 15 to 17, were shot.

The victims were taken to Kings County Hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries.

A woman who lives across the street from the playground said she ran over to help the teenagers after the shooting.

Police have closed the park while they investigate the shooting.

During a news briefing, police said the bag is an MCM, backpack. According to MCM's website, bag prices start around $520.

A weapon has not been recovered at this time.

No arrests have been made but police are looking for one suspect.

The investigation is ongoing.
