John Williams plans to score Star Wars 8, Ready Player One, and Indiana Jones 5

Hollywood has blockbuster fever, and the only cure is more leitmotifs. Luckily, John Williams is on the scene. At an AFI tribute to Williams last night, Steven Spielberg confirmed that Williams will score the upcoming fifth installment of the Indiana Jones franchise. Additionally, Williams said that he plans to score Spielberg's video game project Ready Player One and also tackle Star Wars 8, if he has the time. "If I can do it," Williams said of the next Star Wars film, "I certainly will. I told Kathy Kennedy I'm happy to do it, but the real reason is, I didn't want anybody else writing music for Daisy Ridley." Good, because — and let's be perfectly frank about this — Daisy Ridley deserves nothing but the best.
