YOUR MAMA'S NOTES: Long-married showbiz veterans Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick have significantly up-sized their living situation, as was first revealed by the plugged in property gossips at The Real Deal, with the deep-pocketed $34.5 million purchase of two side-by-side townhouses on a prime, tree-lined block in the heart of New York City's once bohemian now fully fancified and wildly pricey West Village. Owned since the early 1920s by the United Methodist Women nonprofit organization and just steps from the delicious and sometimes tourist thronged Magnolia Bakery, the turn of the 20th century red brick townhouses were originally made available for purchase in the fall of 2015 and at the time there was speculation they might fetch as much as $44 million. They were last priced, according to digital listings, at $34.5 million. Presumably the Broderick-Parkers will spend a small fortune to upgrade and combine the townhouses that together have 50-feet of street frontage and encompass a suburban mansion sized 13,900-square-feet with another 2,100-square-feet of private outdoor space.

Parker, who stars in the upcoming HBO series "Divorce," and Broderick, who will appear in the upcoming Warren Beatty written and directed film "Rules Don't Apply," previously owned another West Village townhouse just off lower Fifth Avenue's Gold Coast they purchased in 2011 for $18.995 million, extensively renovated, put up for sale in June 2014 for $24.995 million, and sold almost exactly a year later for $18.25 million, a nearly three-quarter million dollar loss not counting carrying costs, renovation expenses and real estate fees. There are reports they dropped four million bucks on a brand new townhouse-type property in Brooklyn Heights a couple of years ago, although we have no direct knowledge of such a purchase, but it does appear from a careful examination of various property record databases the couple continues to own a 4,182-square-foot West Village townhouse acquired in April 2000 for $2,995,000 as well as two modestly sized neighboring homes in the historic Hamptons hamlet of Amagansett — one of them beach front and the other not — bought in two separate transactions over the summer of 2005 for a total of $6.6 million.
