Heartwarming Video Of Sea Otter Pop Reuniting With Mom Is Going Viral

Last Thursday, the tides near San Luis Obispo in California were uncharacteristically strong, and a newborn sea otter was whisked away from its mother, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.

Not long after, the Marine Mammal Center reunited the two and captured the whole adorable event on video.

Personnel traveled by boat to Morro Bay, and upon arrival held the little one up in hopes the mom would see and hear her pup and make herself known.

She did exactly that, so the team tossed the small animal into the water and watched while mom rushed over, pulled her newborn close, and carried the pup away.

Notably, the little sea otter was never in danger of drowning, as the young of the species are built to stay afloat, notes the San Francisco Chronicle.
