Mother, Boyfriend Arrested After Allegedly Staging Girl's Disappearance

Police have called off the search for a missing 10-year-old girl after they say her mother hid her in a case of revenge against her estranged husband.

"I was at work, I got a call. I have cameras, and my camera showed her at 10:55 a.m. At 10:56 a.m. we have no sign of her. We have no sign of her. We're just looking forward to bringing her home, please," her mother said when she reported her daughter as being missing.

The mother was allegedly upset that their daughter had been dropped off fifteen minutes early, forcing her to rush home. She and her boyfriend then allegedly hid away the young girl, and the mother gave a public interview as she begged, in tears, for her daughter to be returned to her.

The young girl was being kept at a family friend's house, and police were made aware of the situation when someone reached out to them. The girl's father said that their family came in from the Bay Area to aid in the search as well.

The mother was arrested and now faces a felony and two misdemeanors for concealing the daughter from the parents, reporting a false emergency and obstructing police.
