The doctor who developed the Heimlich maneuver for saving a choking person used it for the first time on Monday, reports The Guardian.

According to the BBC, Dr. Henry Heimlich, now age 96, rushed to the aid of a fellow resident at the Deupree House retirement facility in Cincinnati.

The 87-year-old woman had been eating hamburger meat when some of it got lodged in her airway.
