2-Year-Old Girl And Baby Gorilla Share Heartwarming Moment At Fort Worth Zoo

In December, the Fort Worth Zoo in Texas welcomed Gus, a baby western lowland gorilla, reports KTVT.

Now, the little one is not only exploring his environment, he's making new friends.

A photo showing his adorable encounter with a 2-year-old girl named Braylee was posted to Facebook and has melted more than a few hearts.

As he gets older, Gus is exploring more and more of the world around him, which includes encounters with new friends...

Even though he's incredibly young, Gus is considered one of the zoo's great triumphs, notes Mashable.

Reproduction among western lowland gorillas is a slow process, and though the zoo has been in operation for over 100 years, Gus is the first of his kind to be born there.
