5 ways to BBQ on a budget
Barbecuing is a fun summer tradition. But since it's so much more than throwing some meat on the grill, it can be costly.
Here are some tips for a summer BBQ that doesn't break the bank:
1. (Jug) Wine & Dine
Instead of getting fancy wine, buy a cheap bottle and punch it up by making it an easy sangria. You probably already have orange juice in your fridge.
2. Let the Chips Fall Where They May
Who needs fancy decorative bowls? Make the chip bags into chip bowls by just folding them over.
3. The Meat of the Matter
Keep meat warm in DIY "meat case." Tape two foil containers together on one side. This will keep your burgers, hot dogs or chicken insulated and warm inside. Did we mention it's also easy to open and re-open?
4. Stick A Fork In It
Use an empty cardboard beer carrier to store napkins & utensils. Put a bottle of sauce or even a rock in one of the empty spaces, in order to keep it from flying away.
5. Playing Ketchup
Nobody likes a plain burger! But putting all the bottles out can look tacky, and not everyone has a condiment tray handy. Fear not: Use a muffin tin as a makeshift tray instead!
So if you're tight on funds, there's no need to stress out. Keep calm and barbecue on!
