An 11-year-old wearing full Mets gear had a casual warmup catch with Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer before a game at Citi Field on May 18.

The boy's father, Joe La Rocca, captured a video of the catch between Scherzer on the field and the young fan in the stands.

"I'm not giving this ball away, there's no way," the 11-year-old says after the catch has ended.

While the ordeal hasn't changed the La Rocca family's Mets allegiance, they did become lifetime Scherzer fans.

Unfortunately for the other Mets fans in attendance, the Mets lost the game 7-1.
