Britney Spears' 2016 Billboard Music Awards dress looks identical to her outfit 15 years ago

If Britney Spears' 2016 Billboard Music Awards opening performance of her greatest hits didn't give you nostalgia, her outfit at the award show definitely may have.

The "Toxic" singer stunned on the red carpet in a lingerie-like ensemble consisting of a lace top and a black, lace thong bottom, and a completely sheer midsection. The look was essentially a lingerie bodysuit that left very little to the imagination. The pants-less number also had a long, sheer train and long sleeves with sparkly detailing. The 34-year-old superstar polished off her ensemble with a pair of fishnet boots and her long, blonde tresses worn down in sexy waves.

The look was definitely a scene-stealer, but longtime fans of Brit-Brit probably thought her ensemble looked a little familiar.

Fifteen years ago Spears rocked a nearly identical outfit at the 2001 MTV VMAs. Back then, she donned a black, long sleeve lace dress that consisted of a piece of lace overtop a bandeau bra and a set of tiny underwear. Th sleeves featured a finger loop for added sexiness and a ruffled edge. The then 19-year-old star wore her hair down in curls and topped off the look with a simple set of strappy heels.

Despite the looks being over a decade apart, one thing is for sure -- Britney looks as good now as she did then!
