Leave it to Iggy Pop to pull every rockstar antic out of the book in order to take center stage at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival.

The 69-year-old rockstar stopped by the photocall for his documentary "Gimme Danger" with director Jim Jarmusch's which focuses on his punk band The Stooges, and he made sure to give the photographer's the full rockstar treatment. Iggy Pop, whose real name is James Newell Osterberg Jr., wore a white T-shirt, black jeans, and a leather jacket with a set of Gucci slides -- and as he approached the photo spot, he flipped off all the photographers. Next up, he yelled out to them, before lifting up his shirt to show off his famous rock-hard abs.

Later, he decided that the view was a bit better from where the photographers were snapping away and he jumped into the pit with them.

Naturally, after all these antics he sauntered into the press conference where he regaled the crowd with details of his life as a rocker in the 60s and 70s.

"I saw the film for the first time last night and it really hit me, 'oh Christ I'm a product of those times,'" said Iggy Pop. "I was on acid in more than several of the clips in the movie when I was young. I would go from feeling very aggressive to breaking out in laughter," he said.

He then reassured reporters that he's since dropped his drug habits.

"The drugs -- everybody should just drop that shit," he said. "For me, the best is a very good wine, but weed is OK for most people," he shared. "All can say is I don't drug up anymore. I don't do it. I have wine with dinner and that's about it."

Next, reporters asked if Mr. Pop would wear a shirt to the evening premiere on Thursday, since he's famous for being shirtless on stage.

"Would you like me to come to the carpet with no shirt?" he said, getting cheers from the gourp. "Well, no shirt it is. I've been thinking about it. My manager thinks I should wear a shirt. But now it's decided."
