Raccoons are not your typical pets, but there are always exceptions.
Ghost is a one-eyed raccoon, and despite his condition, he is extremely happy.

Unfortunately, with only one eye, Ghost couldn't survive out in the wild. His depth perception is impaired, which would cause him to get stuck all the time.
So the little guy is currently living large at A New Hope Sanctuary & Education Center.
The Center's director, Maxine Baird, said, "It took a while for him to come around with people."
After spending some time with humans, it's safe to say Ghost has gotten pretty comfortable.
Now he's happy, healthy and full of love. He's even become so attached to certain people he doesn't like it when they try to leave.
Like many pets, Ghost loves butt scratches. Unlike just about any other pet, he also enjoys holding hands and rummaging through people's pockets!
Baird advises that raccoons aren't usually safe to keep as pets, as they tend to be aggressive and dangerous.
Ghost may be physically harmless, but he definitely is devious.
Then again, with a face as cute as his, it's hard not to give in to his charm.
