After closing his own label in 2015, designer Jonathan Saunders will be joining the Diane von Furstenberg brand as Chief Creative Officer, reports Business of Fashion. Saunders's print prowess allows the brand to double up on their print power. He was famously hired two days after his Central Saint Martins graduation by Alexander McQueen, where he created their famous birds-of-paradise print (most recently re-worn by FKA Twigs at a McQueen gala) and is well-known for his silk-screening technique.

In a statement, Saunders said, "The spirit with which this brand was founded is incredibly relevant today. I am thrilled to be part of its next chapter. Diane has a unique ability to deeply connect with women and I am excited to be working with [chief executive] Paolo [Riva] on the future of the brand." The appointment is effective immediately.
