Baby born via emergency c-section after mother dies in accident
A baby girl named Maddyson is only days old, but she's already experienced a great deal of hardship, reports the Daily Mail.
On Wednesday, mother-to-be Sarah Iler was on her way to a Missouri hospital to deliver the baby and her vehicle was involved in an accident.
Iler did not survive the crash, but Maddyson was successfully delivered via emergency C-section.
The newborn was initially listed in critical condition, however she is reportedly breathing on her own now.
According to Southeast Missourian, due to prolonged lack of oxygen prior to birth, there is concern Maddyson's brain health has been compromised.
Iler's family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses, as she did not have life insurance at the time of her death.
