Tenants have been known to sometimes leave rentals in less than ideal condition, but few incidents likely compare to what one landlord in Portland, Oregon is now facing.

Upon visiting a recently abandoned property, landlord Braheem Hazeem discovered roughly 50,000 pounds of trash piled both inside and out the home, reports UPI.

He admits he hadn't been to the property in many years, but, as the home was being rented to long-time occupants receiving Section 8 assistance, he figured workers with Home Forward would notify him of any issues, notes KGW.

Inspections are typically done on Section 8 homes every 2 years, but allegedly none of the reports note a detritus issue.

According to KGW, Hazeem believes the garbage began to accumulate in 2011, the year the tenants appear to have canceled their waste collection service.

Damages are estimated to be around $15,000.

A friend of Hazeenm's has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the cost.
