David Bowie was going to appear in 'Twin Peaks' reboot
In addition to robbing us of future musical projects, David Bowie's death in January also snatched away the chance to see him reprise one of his more oddball acting roles. Character actor Harry Goaz, who will appear as Deputy Andy Brennan in the 2017 Showtime reboot of David Lynch's Twin Peaks, revealed to the Dallas Morning News that Bowie was also slated to revisit his role in the quirky mystery series.

Goaz said Bowie was set to make a cameo as Agent Phillip Jeffries, who he portrayed in the 1992 film spinoff Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. Bowie's long acting resume included starring roles in The Man Who Fell to Earth, The Hunger and Labyrinth, as well as beloved cameos in Basquiat and The Prestige. While, sadly, we won't get to see that Bowie performance, the show -- whose air date has not yet been announced -- will have a massive cast of 217 actors when it picks up the action 25 years after the action in the first two series. Nobody else involved with the production has discussed the reported Bowie cameo.

In addition to original stars Kyle MacLachlan and Sherilynn Fenn, the show will include Ashley Judd, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Jim Belushi, Amanda Seyfried, Michael Sera, Nine Inch Nails singer Trent Reznor, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, Naomi Watts, Tim Roth and Jessica Szohr.
