The rise of Donald Trump has baffled many this election season. Now, a university professor in Georgia wants to help people figure out why.

Dr. Robert Smith will teach a summer class at Savannah State University called "The Trump Factor in American Politics."

"Looking at Donald Trump as a phenomena in political science, it seemed to me would be the most appropriate time to engage students in a class where we can look as objectively at the positives and negatives of a Trump candidacy," Smith explained.

Students will learn about Trump's background and dig into one of his published books, "The Art of the Deal."

But the three-credit course won't be all about Trump. It will also cover Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Smith told WSAV that students are showing an interest in the course, and he said he's excited to teach it.
