We've watch the red carpet of the Met Gala for years, and it's always thrilling to see how designers, hairstylists, makeup artist and their celebrity clients interpret each theme. This year's Met Gala celebrated "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology," and we knew we were in for a treat.

To prepare ourselves for the carpet, we decided to visit two premiere salons in New York City and allow them to do the hair and makeup of one of our editors in full theme of this year's Gala. From bold, shimmering eyes to an amazing updo with silver accents, two experts at the Blushington Makeup Salon and Warren-Tricomi Hair Salon (at the Plaza!) showed us how it really feels to get all dolled up -- just like a celeb.

Our first stop was Blushington for glamorous, technology-inspired makeup.

Our incredible makeup artist, Rocio, showed us how to fill in eyebrows.

She also gave us a quick tutorial on contouring.

Next, we visited the ultra glamorous Warren-Tricomi salon for a Met Gala-inspired updo -- and let's just say any visit to the Plaza mean's it's going to be a great day! And then amazing hair on top of that? A win all around!

The 'do our incredible stylist Bella created was complete with hints of silver and big, bold volume, but one of our favorite parts was the sparkle-infused braid. Watch below!

She also added a fun flourish to the voluminous updo that totally completed the look.

Our finished product was fun, flirty and glamorous -- exactly what you could hope for before stepping onto one of the most popular red carpets of the year! See the final look below -- what do you think?
