Two big names in the Republican party, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and former Senator Bob Dole, announced their plans for this summer's national conference.

Mitt Romney, an outspoken critic of presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump, will not be attending June's Republican National Convention in Cleveland, reports the Washington Post.

"Governor Romney has no plans to attend convention," a Romney aide told the Washington Post.

While the 2012 GOP presidential nominee will not be in attendance, former Senator Bob Dole revealed Thursday he will be in Cleveland, but will not commit to voting for Trump in November.

The recent news comes following months of banter between Romney and Trump. The former Massachusetts governor gave a scathing address in March, railing on Trump and calling him a "phony," "fraud," "con man," and a "fake." Trump was quick to respond via Twitter, taking shots at Romney's failed run for the White House.

The billionaire businessman said in April that even after the nasty words they exchanged, he would not mind if Romney attended the convention.

"I don't care," Trump told the Washington Post. "He can be there if he wants."

Many big name Republicans have voiced their unfavorable opinions of Trump, and two former presidents have recently joined that list -- President George H.W. Bush and his son President George W. Bush.

During his campaign, Trump has taken jabs at George W. Bush for his mishandling of the 9/11 attacks. Spokespeople for the Bushes stated this week that they both are still opting to not endorse a candidate, even though only Trump remains.
