It's common knowledge that sunless tanning is the much safer option for someone seeking the perfect summer glow. Rather than laying out for hours doing ungodly damage to your skin, the faux glow saves you time and trips to the dermatologist.

What many people don't think about, however, is the "streak factor" that comes along with said tanning method.

One woman recently proved just how catastrophic it could be when she got into a fight with her boyfriend post-spray tan and let the waterworks flow.

The result? An army of streaky, (semi-permanent) white lines left in place of where a tan once was. Her salty tears dripped all the way from her eyes to below her chin, leaving a memorably messy trail along with them.

Before she managed to get home and clean it off, she did what any millennial would do, and snapped a pic for proper documentation. Her friend later convinced her to post it onto Twitter, where it gained steam, eventually making its way to Imgur where it's accumulated over 3 million views.

Moral of the story? Keep calm and (cautiously) spray tan on.
