Megyn Kelly's first encounter with her with her husband, Douglas Brunt, sure sounded, well, uncomfortable.

The "Fox News" personality attended the Met Gala on Monday night with her novelist husband in a stunning black gown, paired with a slicked-back 'do and classic red lipstick.

The couple's glamorous night out was captured by the famous Instagram account Humans of New York, which is run by photographer Brandon Stanton and posts photos of various New Yorkers, along with quotes given to the photographer by the photos' subjects.

The stunning photo, posted on Tuesday afternoon, is accompanied, in this case, by a quote from Brunt, who recounts the couple's first two kisses ever.

"We started dating shortly after she acquired a stalker," Brunt began. "Bad start, I know."

"So she had security with her 24/7. Our first date went great. It was the kind of night that was clearly going to end with a kiss. But I had to kiss her in front of the security guards. It was awkward. It was like our parents were watching."

The couple -- who married in 2008 -- may have shared a super awkward first kiss but, sensing that there was something more there, Kelly wanted to redeem herself for the uncomfortable situation that she had put Brunt in. And, from the sound of it, she more than made up for it.

"The next morning she knocked on my hotel room door," Brunt continued. "She was alone. She walked into the room, and said: 'I can do better.'"

And the rest was history.
