Amber Rose started her career as a model before turning to acting and fashion design. She was discovered by Kanye West after appearing in Ludacris' "What Them Girls Like" video in 2008. After Dating West, she married and divorced Wiz Khalifa. Her unscripted credits include Russell Simmons' Running Russell Simmons, RuPaul's Drag Race, Master of the Mix and, more recently, ABC scripted comedy Black-ish. Simon & Schuster published her first book, How to Be a Bad Bitch, in October. And in March, she launched an emoji app called MUVAmoji, a play on her nickname "Muva Rose."

"Amber has inspired millions of young women by overcoming homelessness to become a wildly successful entrepreneur," VH1 GM Chris McCarthy said. "A true multihyphenate, she is a devoted mother, a strong advocate for women's rights and a celebrated author all of which make her an ideal host. Amber is a perfect addition to the VH1 family because our audience is interested in hearing unique perspectives from those who are unapologetically themselves and not afraid to take a stand on issues they are passionate about."

Added Rose: "I am very excited to be joining forces with such an amazing network to deliver a fresh perspective on the primetime talk show. Join us as we break all the rules and redefine late-night. Watch out Fallon, here comes Muva!"

For VH1, the Rose show comes as the cable network has been experiencing a ratings surge, scoring its highest viewership thanks to series including Love & Hip Hop: New York, original film The Breaks -- soon to be an ongoing scripted drama -- and Mob Wives, among others. The network has been doubling down on content of late, reviving America's Next Top Model and handing out a straight-to-series order based on Star Jones' saga at The View starring Vanessa Williams.

Rose is repped by UTA, manager Nick Cannon and his N'Credible Entertainment and attorney Mosley.

Stage 29, meanwhile, also has scripted drama pilot Bull-- based on the early career of Dr. Phil and starring NCIS' Michael Weatherly -- looking good for a series pickup at CBS.
