A 'secret love note' has taken the internet by storm, going viral since being uploaded to Imgur last week.

The post, which many are saying "proves love still exists," was uploaded by ButAnywayHeresWonderwall, after he discovered it under a workbench in his home.

The note in question was hidden beneath a hand-crafted piece that the author made for his wife shortly before he passed away from a ruptured artery.

The couple's son stumbled upon the short passage months later while peeking around his parents' home, and decided to upload the emotional message to social media.

It reads:

I love you Becca. Whatever day this is, I hope it's a good one. God truly answered my prayers the day he gave me you. I know that these days are the best I'll ever have, and I'm glad you're in them. I'm not sure if you'll ever see this, but if you do, just know that I love you very much. If there is one thing I want in life, it is to be as good to you as you are to me. If I can do that, I'll be the happiest man alive.

I love you beautiful wife. – Mason

The romantic prose, which the widow may never have discovered, has since been viewed over 1.2 million times.

The son also added his own two cents to the post, stating, "Thanks for the love guys. You don't have to send me anything. I only ask that you love one another so there can be peace. Leave the world better than you found it."
