Retailer urges parents to stop using 1 car seat brand over safety fears

Argos, a leading UK-based retailer, issued a statement over the weekend urging all of its customers to stop using a popular brand of car seats.

Mamas and Papas Mercury Group, Argos claims, has five separate models that do not live up to the company's safety standards.

The new information was released on the Argos website under its "product recalls" section, stating, "We have identified a potential safety concern. In the event of an accident the car seat shell may crack and therefore not provide the intended level of protection to the user."

Argos is suggesting that anyone who purchased one of these five faulty models (Mamas & Papas Mercury Group 1 Black, Mamas & Papas Mercury Group 1 Grey, Mamas & Papas Mercury Group 1-2-3 Black, Mamas & Papas Mercury Group 1, 2, 3 Grey, and Mamas & Papas Mercury Group 2-3 Black and Grey) should "immediately" stop using the product.

The company also stated that a full refund would be issued to anyone who returns one of the faulty models to an Argos store.

While the retailer has apologized for the inconvenience, angry parents on social media did not shy away from expressing their outrage on the matter at hand.
