Both parents of 6 children die within 48 hours of each other

The loss of a parent is among the most devastating events a child can experience, and 6 siblings in Harvest, Alabama are now far too familiar with such tragedy, notes the Washington Post.

The children, ages 6 to 20, lost both of their parents within 48 hours, reports New York Daily News.

On April 22, mother Jennifer Norsworthy passed due a blood clot.

According to AL.com, the 40-year-old had a history of the medical issue, and though she was rushed to the hospital she was ultimately declared deceased.

It's believed the stress of her death was more than her husband, Toby, could endure.

He suffered a fatal heart attack the following Sunday.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to help with both funeral costs and providing for the children's future needs.

By Monday morning, roughly $40,000 had been raised, far exceeding the initial $5,000 goal.
